Privacy Policy

Stoiceum is designed to be private by default. Your practice, your reflections, and your reading stay on your device.

Our commitment

Stoiceum is built as an offline-first application. We believe that your inner life is your own. The app does not collect, transmit, or store your personal data on any server. Everything you write, read, highlight, or bookmark remains on your device.

What we do not collect

We do not collect, request, or have access to any of the following:

  • Personal identifiers such as your name, email address, or phone number.
  • Journal entries, reflections, or any text you write in the app.
  • Reading history, bookmarks, or progress data.
  • Emotion wheel selections or practice logs.
  • Location data, contacts, photos, or files on your device.
  • Advertising identifiers or behavioral tracking data.

What stays on your device

All content you create within Stoiceum is stored locally on your device using standard storage mechanisms provided by your operating system. This includes your journal entries, bookmarks, reading progress, practice history, statistics, and preferences.

If you uninstall the app, this data is removed along with the application. If your device offers system-level backup, your app data may be included in that backup according to your device settings. That backup is controlled entirely by you and your operating system, not by us.

Network access

Stoiceum is designed to work offline. The core features — reading, journaling, and practice — do not require an internet connection and do not transmit any data.

The Google Play build of Stoiceum does make limited network requests to Firebase Crashlytics for the sole purpose of submitting anonymous crash reports and diagnostics, as described below.

Third-party services

Stoiceum does not integrate third-party advertising or tracking SDKs. There are no cookies, no fingerprinting, and no profiling for advertising purposes.

Purchases of the premium version are handled entirely by the store or platform through which you obtained the app. That provider's own privacy policy governs the transaction data associated with your purchase. We do not receive or store your payment information.

Crash reports and diagnostics

In builds distributed via Google Play, Stoiceum uses Firebase Crashlytics to collect anonymous crash reports and diagnostic data. This data helps us identify and fix stability issues. It is not linked to your identity, is not used for advertising, and does not include the content of your journal entries, reading history, or any text you write in the app.

The Google Play build also uses TelemetryDeck for anonymous usage analytics, to understand which features are used and how the app performs. No personal data, journal content, or reading history is included.

Children's privacy

Stoiceum does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Since the app collects no personal data at all, it is safe for users of all ages.

Your rights

Because we do not collect or process your personal data, there is nothing for us to delete, export, or correct on your behalf. You retain full control over your data at all times, since it lives only on your device.

You can clear all app data at any time through your device's system settings, or by uninstalling the app.

Changes to this policy

If we ever change how Stoiceum handles data, we will update this page and revise the date at the top. Any material change will be communicated clearly within the app before it takes effect.
